Do you have questions about what to expect for your son or daughter’s lacrosse season? Do you want to learn more about the sport and / or necessary equipment?
Check out the helpful resources below!
Can my child play lacrosse and other spring sports? (i.e. soccer, baseball, etc)?
At the 8U and 10U level, the programs are recreational and have flexibility to encourage players to participate in other spring programs.
At 12U and 14U, please consult the season expectations and review with your coach to determine scheduling considerations.
Where and when will practice occur?
Practice locations and times vary by age level. Additional detail can be found on the Teams Page.
Primary locations for practice are Jennings Field, Zionsville Middle School and Zionsville West Middle School.
Will there be practices and/or games over Zionsville school breaks?
The seasons will align to the school break schedule with no commitments over Fall break, February break and Spring break.
There are, on occasion, optional opportunities for drop-ins over breaks to work on stick skills and have fun with friends.
How will I receive communications and additional information about the season?
Program communications will be provided via emails, if you have registered for the season you are already added to the distribution list. If you are new to the program and / or exploring if lacrosse might be right for your son or daughter subscribe to our emails via our Home page.
In season communications from your coach, game and practice schedules will be managed via the TeamSnap mobile app.
Can my child play up or down based on their school grade vs. their age?
ZLAX and Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association (IYLA) follow the guidelines for age group eligibility based on the USA Lacrosse brackets. These guidelines are based on age vs. grade.
Additional information can be found here on age requirements, please reach out to board@zlax.org for additional questions.
